Celebrating Our Milestone: Launching the Life Leveling Application
WEEK 19
Felipe de Souza
1/30/2026
This week marked a defining milestone for the Life Leveling project. After months of iterative development, architectural refinement, and collaborative problem-solving, my team and I shifted our focus toward presentation, polish, and delivery. The goal was no longer to build new systems, but to confidently present what we had built — culminating in the official v0.1.1 release of the application.
Rather than emphasizing internal process, this phase required us to step into the perspective of users, stakeholders, and future employers. It was an opportunity to evaluate the product not as developers, but as presenters responsible for communicating value, clarity, and intent.
Shifting Focus: From Development to Presentation
One of this week’s primary deliverables was a short walkthrough video designed to narrate a user’s experience through the application. The focus of this walkthrough was intentional: to showcase the finished product as a user would encounter it, without technical disclaimers or process explanations.
By guiding viewers through the core flow of the app, we highlighted how Life Leveling supports habit-building through structure, clarity, and positive reinforcement. This exercise reinforced the importance of clean UI transitions, visual consistency, and intuitive interaction design.
For those interested in seeing the application in action from a user-facing perspective, the walkthrough video can be viewed here:
Presenting the Product With Professional Intent
Building upon the walkthrough, we also completed a full-length final presentation aimed at future employers and fellow capstone students. This presentation framed Life Leveling as a complete product, covering its inspiration, target market, feature set, team roles, and lessons learned throughout development.
Preparing this presentation emphasized the importance of storytelling in software development. Beyond demonstrating features, we focused on communicating intent, tradeoffs, and growth — both as a team and as individual contributors. Embedded application demos allowed the product to speak for itself, reinforcing confidence in its stability and direction.
The final presentation is available here for those who would like a deeper look into the project’s journey and outcome:
Reaching a Meaningful Release Point
Alongside these presentations, we finalized and published the first official release of Life Leveling. Reaching this point represented more than a version number — it symbolized a transition from concept to a complete, functional application.
The v0.1.1 release reflects the cumulative effort of the team and the discipline required to bring a project across the finish line. It stands as a snapshot of our collaboration, technical growth, and ability to execute under real-world constraints.
Closing Reflections
This week was less about writing new code and more about demonstrating maturity as developers and collaborators. Learning how to present work professionally, align on messaging, and deliver a polished product is just as critical as solving technical challenges.
As we approach the conclusion of the capstone experience, this milestone reinforces the value of thoughtful execution, teamwork, and the confidence to stand behind what we’ve built. Life Leveling now exists not just as a project, but as a complete expression of our readiness to step into the industry.
